That is a meaningful public profession. It is fair to say Mario Lopez identifies as a practicing Roman Catholic. It is not fair to claim we can see his heart, measure his sincerity, or announce where he stands before God. Only the Lord knows that.

Roman Catholicism identifies itself as Christian, and Lopez openly connects his faith with God, family, prayer, and church. Christians can thank God when public figures speak positively about faith. At the same time, the Bible calls every person, famous or unknown, to trust in Jesus Christ Himself.
Being raised in a church, wearing a cross, or speaking warmly about religion cannot save us. The Ten Commandments expose our sin. We have all lied, sinned in heart, and failed to love God perfectly. That is why the gospel is not self-improvement. Jesus died for sinners, rose again, and offers forgiveness by grace through faith.
