Zach Galifianakis

Zach Galifianakis a born-again christian? In an interview with Jimmy Fallon in October of 2014 Zach Galifianakis made some exciting comments regarding his faith in God. “…I’m not a particularly religious person,” stated Zach Galifianakis, who only a few seconds later truthfully stated “… there is a God.”

Prior to the interview, Zach Galifianakis had experienced one of the miraculous works of God when his baby boy was born. He was telling a story about raising his child. Hopefully, Zach Galifianakis will seriously consider this observation he made about the existance of God and raise his child in light of such truth.

In the interview with Jimmy Fallon, Zach Galifianakis did not mention if his new found faith would be defined as christianity. His comments were more general and in passing, and he did not mention specifically that Zach Galifianakis has sinned against God by

  • Lying
  • Stealing
  • Blasphemy
  • Fornication
  • etc, (see Exodus 20)

Even though Zach Galifianakis didn’t mention the above things specifically, the hope is that he is aware that these are indeed sins. It is also possible that Zach Galifianakis knows that God demonstrated His love for Zach Galifianakis by sending Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross to take the punishment for sin.

Think of it this way, Zach Galifianakis broke God’s law and Jesus Christ paid the fine. Now, what Zach needs to do is repent, that is to recognize and turn away from his sin, and put his trust not in himself (Zach Galifianakis) but in Jesus who died for him. Zach is not good enough to go to heaven, but Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, and died a sufficient death to pay for the sins of Mr. Galifianakis.

So, the statement “Zach Galifianakis is a Christian” may be true some day. Sadly, I don’t think it is today. But Zach Galifianakis is an extremely funny comedian, in my opinion, and it is my sincere prayer that he will understand that

  • God is Holy
  • Zach Galifianakis is not
  • God is rich in mercy and
  • Sent Jesus Christ to die
  • for Zach Galifianakis

Now before you accuse Jimmy Fallon or Zach Galifianakis of being sinners, make sure to ask yourself the same questions. Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen? Jesus Christ said that whoever looks upon a woman to lust for her, has already committed adultery in their hearts (God cares about your thoughts and your actions.)

UPDATE: According to Wikipedia, in 2013 Zach Galifianakis seems to be interested in allowing people to optionally choose to murder babies. He and "Are You There?" co-star Sarah Silverman announced that they were going to try to raise money so that people could have an abortion, which is murder. If indeed, Zach Galifianakis becomes a born again Christian, this is one of his many sins that will be forgiven. It would be a good idea for Zach Galifianakis a born-again christian? In an interview with Jimmy Fallon in October of 2014 Zach Galifianakis made some exciting comments regarding his faith in God. “…I’m not a particularly religious person,” stated Zach Galifianakis, who only a few seconds later truthfully stated “… there is a God.”

Will Farrell

Will Ferrell was one of my favorite comedians growing up, so when I ran in to him at the airport recently I was very excited. I was too nervous to speak to him because, well… he’s Will Ferrell. I wondered where he was flying, and wished that I had spoken to him.

I was at the airport flying to Portland to work with my brother on some company work. My place of employment flew me up to portland, and they even paid for me to fly first class. This was my first, first-class flight.

Well, if a first-class flight wasn’t enough to make my trip more enjoyable, upon boarding the plane I found out that my seat 4B, a window seat, which was next to 4A. Why does that matter? Because guess who was sitting in 4A, but Will Ferrell - funny man from Saturday Night Live!

Now was my chance to talk to the great comedy legend Will Ferrell. Sure, I was nervous. You could even say that I was scared. I mean, it’s not every day (or ever) that I get to talk to a famous hollywood celebrity like Will Ferrell.

It wasn’t an issue of wanting to talk to Mr. Will Ferrell, it was an obligation. He is not just a famous comedian who’s started in big Hollywood movies, Will Ferrell is a person just like me - and you. I had to talk to him to share something with him that I don’t know if he’s ever heard before.

“Excuse me, you’re Will Ferrell, right?” I asked.

“As far as I know” he said while he smiled.

“Will, can I have your autograph?” I asked.

Will Ferrell looked at me with serious eyes and said, “Do you got $50 bucks?” I thought to myself, I do… but do I really want to pay fifty dollars to have him sign a piece of paper… “I’m just kidding” he said, “You should have seen your face. I’d be happy to sign Will Ferrell for you on a piece of paper”

At the time I was reading the Bible in the book of Hebrews, I asked Will if he would sign it on the page I was on. He said “You want me to write, or sign, Will Ferrell on your Bible?” I asked him if he would sign it next to Hebrews 9:27… then I asked him if he had ever read that verse?

Will Ferrell answered that he hadn’t. I asked him if he would read it. It says “it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment”

He pushed my Bible back, after scribbling “Will Ferrell” near Hebrews 9:27 — I said thank you.

I then asked Will if he had ever thought about death… and then the judgement. He wasn’t really in a joking mood anymore (which is understandable). Will Ferrell stated “If there is a man up stairs I hope that I’ve made him laugh so hard that he’ll want to keep me around just for the fun of it.”

“Will” I said… “I know that I just met you and you probably weren’t planning on having to sit next to a talkative person, or a Christian for that matter. But I also never expected to meet Will Ferrell today, and have the opportunity to talk to him.”

I then asked will if he’s aware that God doesn’t let people in heaven because they are funny - but based on their life and what they did. I asked Will Ferrell if he considered himself to be a good person.

He said that while he’s not a perfect person, he believes he’s better than most. I asked Will Ferrell if I could ask him a few questions to determine how good of a person he was. He agreed. So I said “Will, how many times have you lied in your life?”

He said probably 2 or 3… I asked Will Ferrell to be honest, with a serious look on my face, and he said “I have no idea” So I asked him “what he would call someone who lost count of how many times they’ve told a lie… He said, “I guess I’d call them a forgetful liar.”

I then asked Will Ferrell if he’d ever stolen anything to which he replied that he had. I asked him what you call someone who steals, and he said “A thief.” I told him that was correct. I then asked him if he had ever committed adultery…

I then looked right at Will Ferrell, and said “Will, I realize that’s a very serious, and personal question, but before you answer remember that Jesus said, in that book you just signed, if you even look at a woman to lust after her, then you’ve committed adultery in your heart.

So I said Will “Have you ever looked at a woman with lust, which is un-lawful sexual desire.” Will Ferrell’s funny voice was fully gone at this point. He was starting to realize that he couldn’t get in to heaven, simply by being Will Ferrell.

I then explained to him that even though he’s extremely funny and has, no doubt, done some nice things in his life, that it’s appointed once for man to die, and after this comes the judgement … and one day, Will Ferrell will die and then face the judgment of God.

I explained to him that by his own admission, he isn’t good enough to go to heaven, but he (like me) is guilty of being a liar, a thief, and an adulterer (at least at heart)”

Will Ferrell looked at me, and said… that’s bad news. I asked him, “Will, does it concern you that if your time was up and you were to stand in front of God that he would find you guilty on your day of Judgement? He looked at me and said “I may play a funny man on TV, but I’m not an idiot. Of course it concerns me…”

I then realized that it’s a fact that Will Ferrell is not just a brilliant comedian, but also a real person, with a real soul. I was able to share with Will that there is good news. I explained to him that the bad news is that he broke the law of God, and if God was to judge him, he surely would be found guilty (like me).

The Good news, I explained to Will Ferrell, is that God is rich in mercy, and that God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we still sinners God sent Jesus Christ to live a perfect life and die a sinners death on the cross, for our sins.

I figured since I had used the word Sin, and many people, including possibly Will Ferrell, may not be clear what the word sin means, I would explain it to him. So I said… Will, Sin is breaking God’s law: doing things like lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, blasphemy, etc.

Back to the Gospel, or good news, to Will Ferrell. I said “Will, we both broke God’s Laws, which is called sin, but God loves us. If you understand what I am saying Will, I said, then you need to also understand that you’re a sinner and realize that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross.

The Bible says that if you have faith in Jesus Christ, or trust that Jesus Christ died for you to pay the penalty for our sins, and that if we believe in the good news of the gospel, God will forgive our sins and we’ll be innocent on the day of judgment. Then when are judged, not only are we sinless, but the righteousness (or good life that Jesus lived).

I told Will Ferrell to think about our conversation… Or at least I would have, if I met Will Ferrell in the airport… or if I sat next to him on an airplane. The above was a story, but I hope and pray that it would be a true story if I indeed had the privilege to meet Will Ferrell.

If you like Will Ferrell, and maybe that’s how you landed on this page, then please pray for him to hear and obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Will, if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Just to be clear: I did not meet Will Ferrell. I like Will Ferrell, I think he's a great comedian, and a very talented person. I care for him even though I've never met him. Will Ferrell may ore may not know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I don't know.

Kate Upton

What Is Kate Upton’s Religion? Is Kate Upton Christian?

Yesterday, the American model and actress Kate Upton celebrated her 22nd birthday. She is most well known for her appearance in the Swimsuit edition of 2013’s Sports Illustrated magazine. You may have also seen Kate Upton in the recent film “The Other Woman” with co-stars Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.

Hopefully Kate Upton received all the birthday gifts that she wanted yesterday. Did you realize that the greatest gift of all times is available to Kate Upton? What would the best birthday gift be for Kate Upton?

  • Brand New Mansion
  • Fancy Sports Car
  • $1,000,000 Cash
  • Eternal Beauty

It’s possible that she learned about the greatest gift during her time at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy (the school that Kate Upton attended, according to Google). While at school, Kate Upton could have learned that doing things like lying, stealing, blasphemy, fornication and even dishonoring her parents is actually committing sin against God.

The good news for Kate Upton is that even though she broke God’s law (which is called sin) God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were still sinners, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross for our sins.

The greatest gift for Kate Upton would be to be forgiven of her sins and become a Christian. Kate Upton a Christian? Wouldn’t that be great news! Jesus Christ is the best gift that Kate Upton could receive.

Keep in mind that Kate Upton is not the only person that sinned against God. You too have sinned against God and are in need of forgiveness. If a person, even Kate Upton, would die without having their sins forgiven, then they would have “hell to pay”. That’s not just a phrase, Hell is a place that people are punished for their sins.

You might say “God loves Kate Upton”, God would never send her to hell. God is not pleased with sending people to hell. God wants Kate Upton to recognize her sin, and receive the free gift of God’s grace found in Jesus Christ.

Pray for Kate Upton to become a Christian. Pray that Kate Upton would realize her need for a savior, and remember that she is a creation of God.

Kate, if you happen to be reading this and getting upset at me for judging you, please know that I am a sinner beyond belief. I am not judging you, but begging you to examine yourself and judge for yourself if you’ve broken God’s law and if you’re in need of forgiveness. Jesus Christ is the best free you’ll ever receive Kate. I pray that the phrase “Kate Upton is a Christian” will one day be a true statement.

LeVar Burton

LeVar Burton and the Third Commandment

You may know him as Lt. Geordie La Forge from Star Trek the Next Generation, or from the long-running award-winning educational kids TV show Reading Rainbow. Well, I knew LeVar Burton, and loved him from both. Christians all over have enjoyed watching LeVar on both shows.

I was excited to see LeVar Burton back in 2012 talking at Apple's World Wide Developer Conference. He spoke about his Reading Rainbow app that would be coming to iOS devices.

While he was up on the stage, speaking about an app for children, I was a bit disheartened when I heard him blaspheme the name of the Lord.

Many people don't even realize that saying things like "Oh my God" and "God Dammit" is actually violating the 3rd Commandment of God. Some would argue that LeVar Burton when he used God's name in vein maybe wasn't actually using it to offend God or Christian audience members. That's probably true, I don't know what LeVar Burton was thinking, or what his motivation for using God's name in vein was.

The idea is, LeVar Burton, (like me, and anybody else) has violated God's law. I heard him do it while at the conference, but I'm sure that LeVar Burton has likely broken God's law by doing the following things.

  • Has LeVar Burton ever told a lie?
  • Do you think the actor that played Geordie ever stole something?
  • Did the Reading Rainbow star ever look at a woman with lust?
  • Don't just judge LeVar Burton, think about these for yourself.

If you're a Christian, and you came here to see if it was true that LeVar Burton is a Christian: I don't know. I hope and pray that LeVar Burton becomes a Christian. He's not the only one that broke God's law... you did, I did, we all did.

We broke God's law, that's bad news. I don't know if you, or LeVar Burton, knows that God is real and that violating his law is punishable. But there is good news, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Bible says that even though LeVar Burton broke God's law, the good news is that Jesus Christ, God's son, suffered and died on the cross for sinners. I'm a sinner, you're a sinner, and LeVar Burton is a sinner.

God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we (including LeVar Burton) we still sinners, he sent Jesus Christ to die for us. We broke God's law, but God gave His son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sin.

The good news for LeVar Burton is that if he accepts the free gift of grace given to us sinners by God, then all of his sins will be forgiven by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. If you wish it were true that "LeVar Burton is a Christian", then be praying for him. If you get the chance to speak to LeVar Burton in real life, make sure to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him.

Jay Leno

Is Jay Leno Religious? Christian? Catholic?

Jay Leno hosted the Tonight Show from 1992, until 2009 (plus a few more years). Born on April 28th, 1950 that means at the time of this writing, he is currently 64 years old. I watched Jay Leno many nights on NBC. He is a funny, talented comedian.

During one of the Jay Leno man-on-the-street style interview, he asked tested others on their knowledge of Easter and other questions about Jesus. Jay Leno saying things about Jesus may seem strange to some as it is not believed that he is a Christian or that he trusts in Jesus.

I know that if I ever heard the news that Jay Leno is a Christian, at first I would be skeptical, but I would be excited. When I became a Christian, I found myself wanting to watch the Tonight Show with Jay Leno less and less. I'm not saying that all shows were terrible, but some of them included sinful content that I no longer wanted to watch.

If getting in to heaven was achieved by being a funny comedian and award-winning talk show host, Jay Leno would surely get in. But the fact is, we don't get in to heaven by being charming, or funny. The standard is God's law so Jay Leno should ask himself the following questions.

  • Has Jay Leno ever lied? Lying is a sin against God.
  • Ever stolen anything Mr. Leno? (regardless of its value)
  • Looked with Lust? Lots of beautiful girls on Jay Leno's show
  • Ever used God's holy name in vein? (saying "Oh my God" or "Jesus Christ" in a careless or disrespectful way)

To be clear, I'm not judging the funny man Jay Leno. As I said above, it would be great news if it were true that Jay Leno is a Christian. I pray that he understands that sinning against God is a serious and punishable crime. Maybe you've heard the phrase "hell to pay", well, when you sin against God, that's a true statement.

Then Bible says that God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, He sent Jesus Christ to suffer and die for sinners. If Jay Leno would understand what gracious thing God has done for him on the cross, he would be thankful, and saved.

I Pray that Jay Leno would be forgiven of his sins by trusting in what Jesus Christ did for him on the cross. Then the whole community of believers would all praise God for the news that Jay Leno is a Christian.

If you happen to be reading this, Mr. Jay Leno, and you have any questions or comments, I would love to speak to you. You can contact me by leaving a comment here. If you're reading this and you're not Jay Leno, please be praying for his salvation.
