Tom Cruise, Scientology, and What the Bible Says About Salvation

Tom Cruise has been in the spotlight for decades, not just for his movies but also for his strong connection to Scientology. A lot of people wonder where he stands when it comes to faith and beliefs about God. Tom didn’t always practice Scientology, he grew up Catholic, but his spiritual path took a turn when he found this religion back in the 1980s. Since then, he’s been one of its most famous advocates.

Some Things to Know About Tom Cruise’s Beliefs

Why Scientology?: Tom Cruise has shared that Scientology has helped him in a big way. According to him, it’s given him the tools to handle life’s ups and downs. He’s said that he “wouldn’t be where [he is] today” without Scientology, emphasizing how it’s shaped his success and daily life (Christian Post). For him, Scientology is about self-improvement and dealing with life’s challenges.

Sticking with It: Even though Scientology has faced a lot of criticism, Tom stays loyal to it. He’s even reached an advanced level in the church, known as “Operating Thetan VII” (Patheos). It’s a big deal in Scientology, and not many people reach that level, which is supposed to bring deeper spiritual awareness.

Famous Quotes: One quote that sums up Tom’s view of Scientology is when he said it gives him the ability “to better enjoy [his] life and to be able to contribute more” (AZ Quotes). For Tom, it’s more than just a belief system, it’s a way of life that he believes makes him a better person.

What the Bible Says About Salvation

Christianity teaches that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. In the Bible, Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). That’s a pretty big difference compared to Scientology, which focuses more on self-awareness and spiritual growth rather than the idea of a Savior.

The Gospel Message for Tom and All of Us

Now, I’m not here to judge Tom Cruise’s beliefs, that’s between him and God. But like everyone, Tom Cruise needs to understand the gospel, just like you and me. According to the Bible, all of us fall short of God’s standards, and that’s what sin is. The Ten Commandments are like a mirror, showing us where we mess up.

Here’s what the Bible means when it talks about sin:

  • Lying: Even telling small lies breaks God’s law. It’s a violation of the 9th Commandment.
  • Stealing: Taking something that doesn’t belong to you, no matter how small, is breaking the 8th Commandment.
  • Adultery of the Heart: Jesus taught that even looking at someone with lust is like committing adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28).

The good news is that Jesus came to save sinners, offering forgiveness and eternal life to anyone who’s willing to turn from their ways and put their trust in Him.

Now, some of you might be wondering why I mention the Ten Commandments when I talk about faith. Well, the Bible says that the law (which includes the Ten Commandments) is like a “schoolmaster” that leads us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). It helps us see where we’ve messed up and shows us that we need a Savior. It also says that the law is good when used properly, to help us understand our need for forgiveness (1 Timothy 1:8).

Even though I don’t know where Tom stands with God right now, I believe it’s always a good idea to pray for him, just like we pray for anyone else. Pray that he comes to know God’s love in a deep and personal way. And as we pray for him, let’s also take a look at our own hearts, recognizing that we all need that same grace that Jesus offers.

Barack Obama

Is Barack Obama a Christian?

Barack Obama’s faith journey has been one of exploration and reflection. He wasn’t raised in a strongly religious household, but faith became a bigger part of his life when he was an adult. In his 20s, Obama found himself drawn to Christianity, particularly during his time in Chicago. It was at Trinity United Church of Christ where he embraced his faith more seriously. He got baptized, married Michelle there, and had his daughters baptized at the same church. That church played a big role in his spiritual development.

Obama himself has admitted that his faith hasn’t always been a smooth path. He often talks about how faith and doubt can go hand in hand. “Faith doesn’t mean that you don’t have doubts,” he’s said. His church attendance became more private during his presidency, due to concerns about disrupting services. He and his family would often worship privately at places like the chapel at Camp David.

One thing that stood out during his presidency was how much Obama relied on prayer. He spoke about how prayer gave him strength, especially during tough times. Here are a few interesting facts about Barack Obama’s faith journey:

  • His focus on inclusion: Obama has always emphasized respecting people of all faiths. He believes that respecting various traditions is crucial to creating a strong society.
  • He carried religious symbols: During his campaigns and presidency, Obama carried small tokens of faith, such as a silver cross and rosary beads, which reminded him of the diverse people he met along the way.
  • A controversial church experience: Obama’s former pastor at Trinity Church, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, caused a lot of controversies. Some of Wright’s comments led Obama to distance himself from the church, but he continued to identify as Christian.

Despite affirming his Christian faith multiple times, there’s still been a lot of confusion about his beliefs. Some Americans mistakenly think Obama is Muslim, partly due to his middle name, “Hussein,” and his father’s Islamic background. However, Obama has consistently said that Christianity is his faith, though some of his political views, like his support for same-sex marriage, have made things tricky with certain Christian groups.

As Christians, we should pray for Obama, both for his wisdom and for his spiritual journey. Remember, only God truly knows the condition of anyone’s heart. We can pray that Barack Obama continues to seek truth and grace in his walk with the Lord.

Why the Ten Commandments Matter

Now, some of you might wonder why I mention the Ten Commandments when talking about faith. The Bible says the law (like the Ten Commandments) acts as a “schoolmaster” that brings us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). It helps us see where we’ve fallen short and why we need forgiveness through Jesus. For example:

  • Lying: Breaking the 9th commandment
  • Stealing: Breaking the 8th commandment
  • Lusting: Jesus said even looking at someone with lust is like committing adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28)

We’ve all fallen short, but the good news is that Jesus offers us forgiveness. Let’s continue to keep Obama and his family in our prayers, that they may grow in faith and find peace in Christ.

Will Smith

Will Smith Religion

Will Smith’s faith journey is an interesting one, full of twists and personal exploration. Raised in a Christian household, he often speaks about how his grandmother played a huge role in shaping his belief in God. She was very involved in church, making sure Will and his siblings participated in events like Easter plays and Christmas programs. To Will, his grandmother was his “connection to God.” He’s said that even when she was nearing death, she was joyful, knowing she was going to heaven. This faith-filled attitude made a big impression on Will as a young man.

Will often talks about how important his belief in God is to his success. He once said, “You can’t get where I get if you don’t love the Lord.” He has credited much of his career accomplishments to his faith, believing that God had a hand in guiding his journey. While he has been open about his spirituality, Will doesn’t seem to identify with a particular denomination. His faith appears to be more personal and not limited by any specific church.

There have also been rumors about Will and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith being linked to Scientology. This rumor started when Jada was seen visiting the Church of Scientology. However, both Will and Jada have denied being members, explaining that Jada was simply curious about learning different spiritual paths. Will has made it clear that he still believes in God, though he doesn’t speak in detail about specific religious practices.

Here are a few interesting facts about Will Smith’s spiritual journey and life:

  • Giving Back: Will has donated large sums to Christian charities, including $250,000 to Yesha Ministries in Philadelphia. His generosity reflects his desire to help others and share his blessings.
  • Inspiration through Social Media: Will often posts motivational and faith-based messages on his social media. One of his famous quotes is, “God placed the best things in life on the other side of fear,” which he posted after going skydiving.
  • Philanthropy: Alongside Jada, Will has helped provide clean water to residents in Flint, Michigan, through a partnership with First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. This work shows his commitment to helping others in need.

While Will’s public persona includes strong elements of spirituality, he doesn’t often talk about his personal faith in great detail. His lifestyle choices, like his and Jada’s open marriage, have caused debate because they don’t align with traditional Christian views. Still, it’s clear that Will’s belief in God plays a big role in his life.

The Role of Sin and the Ten Commandments

Now, some of you might be wondering why I mention the Ten Commandments when talking about faith. Well, the Bible says that the law (like the Ten Commandments) is like a “schoolmaster” that brings us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). It shows us how we’ve messed up and why we need forgiveness through Jesus.

For example:

  • Lying: Have you ever told a lie? That breaks the 9th commandment.
  • Stealing: Taking something that doesn’t belong to you is breaking the 8th commandment.
  • Lusting: Jesus said that even looking at someone with lust is like committing adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28), which breaks the 7th commandment.

These examples remind us that no one is perfect. We’ve all fallen short of God’s standards at some point, but the good news is that Jesus died for our sins so we can be forgiven.

Let’s continue to keep Will Smith and his family in our prayers. We hope that his spiritual journey continues to guide him closer to God’s truth, and that he finds peace and grace along the way. Whether or not he identifies with a specific denomination, his belief in God has clearly shaped much of his life.

Bruce Willis

Is Bruce Willis a Christian? Let’s Pray for His Salvation and Health

Bruce Willis, one of the most iconic action stars in Hollywood, is currently battling a very difficult health condition. In 2022, Bruce’s family announced that he was diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects his ability to communicate. Unfortunately, his health has worsened, and in 2023, it was revealed that Bruce now has frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which severely impacts both behavior and language. This devastating diagnosis has forced him to retire from acting, and he now requires round-the-clock care from his loved ones.

Despite his larger-than-life presence on screen, Bruce’s personal faith journey has remained private. However, as Christians, we can come together in prayer for him, not only for his physical health but also for his spiritual well-being. His condition highlights the importance of hope and prayer in dark times, and we encourage everyone to pray for Bruce Willis, that he may find peace, strength, and, most importantly, salvation.

Interesting Facts About Bruce Willis

Before his health issues, Bruce had an incredible career, with some truly unique facts that might surprise you:

  • Born in Germany: Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, while his father, a U.S. soldier, was stationed there.
  • Stuttering as a child: Bruce struggled with a stutter growing up but found that acting helped him overcome it. By the time he graduated high school, he had found his calling in performance.
  • Music career: In addition to acting, Bruce has a love for music. He released several albums, including The Return of Bruno, which featured a hit single, “Respect Yourself,” that peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987.
  • Philanthropy: Bruce has a generous heart. He once bought 12,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from his daughter’s troop to donate to troops overseas. He’s also known for donating his paychecks from certain roles to charity.

Sharing the Gospel and the Role of the Ten Commandments

As believers, we use the Ten Commandments to explain the importance of recognizing our sins. This law acts as a “schoolmaster” that helps guide us toward Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that we all fall short of God’s law, and here’s how:

  • Lying: Ever told a lie? That’s breaking the 9th Commandment.
  • Stealing: Taking something that doesn’t belong to you violates the 8th Commandment.
  • Lusting: According to Jesus, even looking at someone with lust is like committing adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28), breaking the 7th Commandment.

Through this understanding, we see how much we need forgiveness. Jesus Christ died on the cross for sinners like us so that we can be forgiven. Our prayer for Bruce Willis is not only for his comfort in this tough journey but for his eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

Of course, I don’t know Bruce’s current relationship with the Lord. I’ve enjoyed his contributions to the entertainment industry and have nothing but well wishes for him and those who love him. Let’s continue to pray for Bruce Willis, for his health and that he may come to know the saving grace of Jesus.

Dwane “The Rock” Johnson

Is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson a Christian?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is well known for his incredible success in both the wrestling world and Hollywood, but not as many people are familiar with his faith. Over the years, Dwayne has hinted at his belief in God, describing his faith as a “special relationship” that helped him through some of the most difficult moments in his life. For example, when a serious injury ended his dreams of becoming a professional football player, Dwayne fell into depression. It was during this low point that he says his faith in God helped him get back on his feet and pursue a new path.

Though Dwayne doesn’t talk about his faith in great detail, he often expresses gratitude for his blessings and acknowledges God’s role in his success. He’s been known to post motivational messages, crediting his faith for keeping him grounded. While Dwayne doesn’t claim to follow a specific Christian denomination, it’s clear that faith has a place in his life.

But the question remains: Is Dwayne Johnson a Christian? Only Dwayne and God truly know the answer to that. While Dwayne may speak positively about God, being a Christian is about more than just acknowledging God’s presence. It involves recognizing our need for forgiveness and trusting in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Why the Ten Commandments Matter

Now, some of you may wonder why I often mention the Ten Commandments when sharing the Gospel. The Bible tells us that the law acts as a “schoolmaster” that leads us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). This means that while we aren’t saved by following the law, it helps bring us knowledge of sin. By understanding God’s law, we can see how we’ve fallen short and realize our need for a Savior.

For instance, consider the following commandments:

  • Lying: Have you ever told a lie, no matter how small? That breaks the 9th commandment.
  • Stealing: Taking anything that isn’t yours, even something small, breaks the 8th commandment.
  • Using God’s Name in Vain: Ever said “Oh my God” casually? That’s breaking the 3rd commandment.
  • Lusting: Jesus taught that looking at someone with lust is like committing adultery in your heart, breaking the 7th commandment.

Romans 3:23 reminds us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and it’s through understanding the law that we come to realize just how much we need God’s forgiveness. In fact, the Bible also says that “the law is good, if one uses it lawfully” (1 Timothy 1:8). This means that when the law is used for the purpose God intended, helping us understand our sin, it’s a good thing.

The Good News of the Gospel

So, when I bring up the law, it’s to show that we all need a Savior. The good news is that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for our sins. By repenting (turning away from our sins) and trusting in Jesus, we can receive forgiveness and eternal life.

Whether Dwayne Johnson has made this decision is something only he and Jesus Christ know. But as Christians, we should be praying for him. Let’s pray that Dwayne continues to grow in his relationship with God, and that his influence might encourage others to seek out their own faith in Christ. And if you’re reading this and haven’t yet placed your trust in Jesus, I encourage you to do the same. God’s gift of forgiveness and eternal life is available to everyone, no matter who they are.

Kim Kardashian

Is Kim Kardashian a Christian?

You might know Kim Kardashian for her reality shows, social media empire, or fashion ventures, but what you might not know is that she has described herself as “really religious” and considers herself a Christian. According to her own words, Kim and her family don’t make a big deal about it, but their Christian faith plays a big role in their lives. She mentioned in an interview that her family starts every day by sharing a Bible verse in a group chat, which is honestly pretty cool, right? Even with her hectic schedule, faith is something she tries to keep at the center.

In 2019, Kim and her children were baptized in the Armenian Apostolic Church, a sign of her connection to Christianity and her Armenian heritage. She’s also been open about attending Christian schools growing up, which shaped a lot of her work ethic and discipline. So, if you’re asking, “Is Kim Kardashian a Christian?” the answer is, yes, by her own testimony, she is.

Now, being a Christian isn’t just about saying you believe in God, it’s about recognizing our need for forgiveness. The Bible teaches that we’ve all broken God’s commandments in one way or another. You might not realize it, but sinning is simply going against God’s rules. So, what are some examples of sin?

  • Lying: Ever told a fib, even a small one? That’s breaking the 9th commandment, which says, “You shall not bear false witness.”
  • Stealing: Whether it’s something big or small, taking something that’s not yours breaks the 8th commandment.
  • Using God’s Name in Vain: Ever said “Oh my God” in a casual way? That’s using God’s name without respect and breaks the 3rd commandment.
  • Lusting: Jesus even said that if we look at someone with inappropriate thoughts, we’ve already committed adultery in our hearts. This breaks the 7th commandment.

Even though Kim Kardashian has shared about her faith, she, like all of us, has likely broken some of these commandments. But here’s the good news, God loves us and offers us forgiveness through Jesus. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This means none of us are perfect, but God made a way for us to be forgiven through Jesus’ death on the cross.

It doesn’t matter how rich, famous, or successful someone is, whether you’re Kim Kardashian or just an ordinary person, everyone needs God’s grace. If Kim truly trusts in Jesus, then her sins can be forgiven, just like yours and mine can be. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” That’s what being a Christian is really about.

So yeah, it’s awesome to hear that Kim Kardashian is leaning on her faith, but remember, the same forgiveness is offered to everyone. You don’t have to be a celebrity to receive God’s gift of eternal life. All you need to do is turn from your sins and put your trust in Jesus. Now that’s the greatest gift anyone can receive, no matter who they are!

Jim Carrey

Is Jim Carrey a Christian?

Jim Carrey’s spiritual journey is unique and filled with profound reflections on faith, suffering, and grace. Raised in a Catholic household and later exploring various religious beliefs, including Presbyterianism and even Buddhism, Carrey has spoken openly about his search for spiritual meaning. In recent years, however, his thoughts on Jesus Christ have gained attention, particularly due to several powerful speeches and his artwork featuring Christ.

In a speech delivered at Homeboy Industries, a nonprofit supporting formerly incarcerated individuals, Carrey discussed suffering and the transformative power of forgiveness. He likened suffering to a choice between two gates: one that leads to resentment and harm, and another that leads to forgiveness and grace, similar to the path Christ took on the cross. Carrey said, “He [Jesus] suffered terribly and was broken by it… but chose to look on those causing his suffering with compassion and forgiveness,” which is the way to open “the gates of Heaven for all of us”.

Though Carrey hasn’t explicitly labeled himself as a Christian, he has made strong references to Christ’s role in salvation. He has described Jesus’ presence as “electric” in his life, expressing a desire to portray Jesus’ “consciousness” through his art. Carrey emphasized that every race could be seen in the face of Christ, reflecting his belief that Jesus is accepting of all.

Lessons from Jim Carrey’s Faith Journey

  • Raised Catholic: Carrey grew up in the Catholic tradition and later explored other religious practices like Presbyterianism and Buddhism.
  • Suffering Leads to Salvation: In recent speeches, he has emphasized how suffering, when met with forgiveness, can lead to spiritual salvation, drawing from Christ’s example.
  • Art and Spirituality: Carrey uses his paintings as a way to connect with Jesus, portraying Him as a figure of acceptance and grace.

The Gospel Message for Jim, and for Us

Like all of us, Jim Carrey’s journey is a reminder that everyone needs the grace and forgiveness that comes from Jesus Christ. While we don’t know the state of his faith, we do know that God’s love is available to him, just as it is for anyone else.

We all fall short of God’s standards, whether through lying, stealing, or looking with lust. The Ten Commandments show us how far we’ve strayed and point us to our need for a Savior. Jesus Christ took our place, paying for our sins on the cross, and offering forgiveness to all who repent and believe.

Why We All Need Jesus

  • Lying: A violation of the 9th commandment.
  • Stealing: Breaking the 8th commandment.
  • Lusting: Jesus said that even looking with lust is committing adultery in our hearts (Matthew 5:28).

Let’s continue to pray for Jim Carrey, asking that he fully understands the depth of God’s grace and the forgiveness offered through Jesus. And as we reflect on his spiritual journey, let’s also examine our own hearts and remember that the gospel is for all of us.

Some Difference Between Catholicism and Christianity

While Catholicism and Christianity share many core beliefs, such as the divinity of Jesus Christ, His resurrection, and the importance of faith, there are key doctrinal differences that distinguish them. One of the primary concerns that many Protestants have with Catholicism is its addition of certain teachings and traditions that they believe go beyond or contradict Scripture.

For example:

  • Salvation: Many Christians believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ alone, without the need for additional works (Ephesians 2:8-9). In contrast, Catholicism teaches that faith, while necessary, must be accompanied by good works and participation in the sacraments.
  • Authority: While Christians hold that the Bible is the ultimate authority for faith and practice, Catholics place equal weight on sacred tradition and the authority of the Pope, which many believe adds to or even contradicts biblical teachings.
  • Mary and the Saints: Catholicism venerates Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the saints, often praying to them for intercession. Many Christians find this practice problematic, believing it detracts from Christ’s unique role as our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).

Despite these differences, it’s important to recognize that there may be individuals who identify as Catholic yet hold a belief system that aligns more closely with biblical Christianity. They may have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, trusting in Him alone for their salvation, which is the core of Christian faith. Therefore, while Catholicism as a religious system may have beliefs that differ from biblical Christianity, it is likely that some individual Catholics can and do embrace true Christian faith.

Kylie Jenner

kylie-jenner-religion-Christian

Is Kylie Jenner a Christian?

Kylie Jenner, one of the most influential figures in social media and business, is known for her massive brand, Kylie Cosmetics, and her role on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. But beyond the fame, what about her faith? Kylie doesn’t often speak about her religious beliefs, but according to her godmother, Kathie Lee Gifford, Kylie does discuss her faith, and she has mentioned that her favorite accessories are her “Jesus pieces” and saint bracelets, which she wears regularly. These small gestures show that faith holds a place in her life, even if it’s not something she openly shares.

Growing up, Kylie and her sister Kendall were raised in a Christian-influenced home. While they didn’t attend church regularly except on holidays like Easter, they were still taught to believe in God. As adults, they’ve both continued to be connected to their faith in different ways, with Kylie attending a non-denominational Christian church. Although she keeps her beliefs more private than some might expect, it’s clear that faith is part of her personal life.

But the big question remains: Is Kylie Jenner a Christian? Only Kylie and Jesus Christ know the true state of her heart and faith. Regardless of what someone says or does, being a Christian is not about outward appearances or actions, but about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sin and God’s Law

The Bible tells us that everyone, no matter how famous or ordinary, has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standards. Sin, according to Scripture, is breaking God’s law. Some examples of sin include:

  • Lying: Even small lies violate the 9th commandment, which says, “You shall not bear false witness.”
  • Stealing: Taking something that doesn’t belong to you, no matter the size, breaks the 8th commandment.
  • Lusting: Jesus took the 7th commandment, “You shall not commit adultery,” a step further by explaining that even looking at someone with lustful intent is committing adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28). This reveals that God cares not only about our actions but also our thoughts.

We’ve all broken God’s law in some way, whether it’s through lying, stealing, or harboring sinful thoughts. Romans 3:23 reminds us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But the good news is that God, in His love and mercy, offers forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. By placing our trust in Him and turning away from our sins, we can receive the gift of eternal life.

As Christians, we should keep Kylie Jenner in our prayers. Let’s pray that she continues to grow in her understanding of God’s love and grace and that she uses her platform to point others toward Him. Whether you’re famous like Kylie or just an average person, God’s offer of forgiveness is available to everyone.

Now, you might be wondering why I bring up the Ten Commandments when talking about faith. The Bible tells us that the law serves as a “schoolmaster” that leads us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). The law shows us where we fall short and reveals our need for a Savior. The law doesn’t save us, but it brings the knowledge of sin, helping us understand our need for Jesus. The Bible also says in 1 Timothy 1:8 that “the law is good if one uses it lawfully.” When we use the law to show our need for forgiveness and grace, it serves its true purpose, guiding us toward Jesus Christ.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift Religion

Is She a Christian?

Taylor Swift has publicly identified herself as a Christian, but there are significant reasons to question the depth of that claim. While she has made statements about her faith, such as her opposition to politicians misusing “Tennessee Christian values,” her actions and beliefs seem to conflict with traditional Christian teachings. For example, she has strongly voiced her support for abortion rights, particularly criticizing the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Swift expressed being “terrified” by the decision, aligning herself with a stance that contradicts the pro-life values held by many Christians (according to interviews and public statements in Variety and Yahoo News).

Another concern is her promotion of occult and pagan imagery. During her performances and in music videos, Swift has dressed as a witch and incorporated occult themes. Songs like “Willow” feature her and her dancers dressed as a coven of witches, and she even released remixes titled “lonely witch” and “dancing witch” versions. This, along with references to karma in her lyrics, has led some to question whether Swift is leaning into non-Christian spiritual practices.

While Taylor claims to be a Christian, it’s clear that her stances and public displays do not align with biblical teachings. However, like any individual, her relationship with God is ultimately between her and Jesus Christ. We may not know the full story, but these signs raise concerns about the consistency of her public faith.

As Christians, it’s essential to pray for Taylor Swift. Pray that she comes to a deeper understanding of God’s love and truth, and that her influence will reflect a genuine relationship with Christ. While she may claim faith, only God knows her heart.

Now, some of you might wonder why I mention the Ten Commandments when sharing the Gospel. In the Bible, the law acts as a “schoolmaster” that leads us to Christ (Galatians 3:24). The law shows us where we’ve fallen short and our need for forgiveness. For example:

  • Lying: Breaking the 9th commandment by telling a lie.
  • Stealing: Taking something that doesn’t belong to you, breaking the 8th commandment.
  • Lusting: Jesus said looking at someone with lust breaks the 7th commandment, as it’s committing adultery in your heart.

The law helps us realize that we all fall short and need Jesus’ grace. As 1 Timothy 1:8 reminds us, “the law is good if one uses it lawfully,” meaning it’s meant to point us toward our need for a Savior, not to condemn us.

I want to be clear. I don't think that Taylor Swift is a Christian, but I want her to become one. Let’s continue praying for Taylor and others in positions of influence, that they come to fully understand God’s truth and grace.

Sam Bankman Fried

A Bad Person, Just Like the Rest of Us

A bad person, just like the rest of us. And we've got the Ten Commandments to prove it.

First of all, there was the time Sam stole his neighbor's lawn gnome and painted it pink as a prank. That's definitely breaking the commandment "Thou shalt not steal."

But it's not just theft that Sam is guilty of. He's also broken the commandment "Thou shalt not bear false witness." Just ask his ex-girlfriend, Sam told her he was a professional ballroom dancer, but it turns out he had only taken one lesson and was completely tone-deaf.

And let's not forget about the commandment "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods." Sam was constantly envious of his friend's new car and kept trying to find ways to get his hands on it.

But wait, there's more. Sam has also broken the commandment "Honor thy father and thy mother." Just ask his parents, they've complained about how little he visits them and how little he values their advice.

Despite all of these sins, Sam knew that he could be forgiven by God's grace through trusting in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for sinners. So he repented and asked for forgiveness, and was able to start living a new life in Christ. And as for the pink lawn gnome, Sam returned it to his neighbor with a heartfelt apology.

Author's Note: This story was generated, with my coaching, by CHATGPT, an AI. While the 'facts' about Sam are not true, it is true that he, and all of us have broken God's Law (the 10 commandments) at some point in our life. We are all guilty and without intervention, deserving of, and headed for Hell. The point of this article, and website, is to share the good news that by God's grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven. Jesus Christ died on the cross for sinful people, which is all of us. Thanks for reading.
